Ingredients
Main Components:
- 1 lb Korean rice cakes (tteok) soaked if frozen
- 2 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning)
- 4 cups water or anchovy broth
For the Sauce:
- 3 tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 tbsp gochugaru (chili flakes)
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sugar
- 1 tbsp corn syrup or honey
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
Add-Ins:
- 1 cup fish cakes, sliced
- 2 boiled eggs
- 1 cup cabbage, sliced
- 2 green onions, chopped
Garnish:
- Sesame seeds
- Nori strips
Instructions
1️⃣ Prep Components:
- Soak rice cakes in warm water for 10 mins if hardened.
- Boil ramen noodles for 2 mins, drain, and rinse.
2️⃣ Make the Sauce:
- Mix gochujang, gochugaru, soy sauce, sugar, corn syrup, and garlic in a bowl.
3️⃣ Cook Together:
- In a pan, bring broth to a boil. Add sauce and stir.
- Add rice cakes, fish cakes, and cabbage. Simmer for 5 mins.
- Toss in noodles and eggs. Cook 2 more mins until thickened.
4️⃣ Serve Hot:
- Garnish with green onions, sesame seeds, and nori.
