This Potato Dish Will Impress Everyone – Ready in Just 10 Minutes!

This quick and flavorful potato dish is perfect for a fast family dinner that everyone will love. Inspired by my grandmother’s traditional village cooking, it uses simple and affordable ingredients to create something truly special. With just potatoes, sausages, and pantry staples, you can make a comforting meal in no time. Let’s get cooking!

✅ Ingredients:

  • 4–5 medium potatoes
  • 4 sausages (your favorite type)
  • 1 onion, finely chopped
  • 1 carrot, grated
  • 1–2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Fresh parsley and dill (for garnish)
  • 2 slices of bread (to make breadcrumbs)
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • Vegetable oil (for frying)
  • Butter (optional, for extra flavor)
  • Salt and black pepper to taste

👨‍🍳 Instructions:

Step 1: Prepare the Sausage Crumble Mixture
In a bowl, crumble the sausages by squeezing the meat out of the casings. Set aside.

Step 2: Cook the Vegetables
Heat vegetable oil and a bit of butter in a large skillet over medium heat. Add onions and sauté until golden. Add grated carrots and minced garlic, then cook for another 3–4 minutes until softened.

Step 3: Add Potatoes
Peel and grate the potatoes, then squeeze out excess water using a clean kitchen towel. Add them to the pan and stir well to combine with the vegetables.

Step 4: Season and Thicken
Add salt, black pepper, and cornstarch to the mixture. Stir thoroughly so the cornstarch helps bind everything together.

Step 5: Add Sausage and Breadcrumbs
Mix in the crumbled sausage. Toast the bread slices slightly, then break them into small pieces and add to the skillet.

Step 6: Fry Until Golden
Press the mixture evenly into the skillet and cook on medium heat until golden brown on the bottom (about 4–5 minutes). Flip carefully and cook the other side.

Step 7: Garnish and Serve
Sprinkle fresh chopped parsley and dill on top before serving. Enjoy your hearty, comforting meal with family!

📝 Tips:

  • Use any kind of sausage you prefer — smoked, spicy, or mild.
  • For extra crispiness, cook on a cast-iron skillet.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the fridge and reheated for breakfast!
  • You can bake this instead of frying for a healthier version.
