Classic Margherita Pizza with Fresh Mozzarella (Homemade in 45 Minutes)

Ingredients

For the Dough (Makes 2 pizzas):

  • 3½ cups bread flour
  • 1¼ cups warm water
  • 1 tsp sugar
  • 2 tsp active dry yeast
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1½ tsp salt

For the Toppings:

  • 1 cup San Marzano tomato sauce
  • 8 oz fresh mozzarella, sliced
  • Fresh basil leaves
  • 2 tbsp grated Parmesan
  • Olive oil drizzle
  • Salt & pepper

Instructions

1️⃣ Make Dough:

  • Dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water. Wait 5 mins until foamy.
  • Mix flour and salt. Add yeast mixture + olive oil. Knead for 5 mins.
  • Let rise for 1 hour (or overnight in fridge).

2️⃣ Prep & Bake:

  • Preheat oven to 475°F (245°C) with a pizza stone/upside-down tray.
  • Roll dough thin. Spread sauce, add mozzarella, and bake for 10-12 mins until bubbly and golden.

3️⃣ Finish:

  • Top with fresh basil, Parmesan, olive oil, salt, and pepper.
