Ingredients
For the Filling:
- 1 lb ground pork
- ½ cup shrimp, minced (optional)
- 1 carrot, julienned
- 1 cup bean sprouts
- ½ cup green onions, chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tsp oyster sauce
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp sugar
For Assembly:
- 25-30 lumpia wrappers (spring roll pastry)
- 1 egg, beaten (for sealing)
- Oil for deep-frying
Dipping Sauce:
- Sweet chili sauce
- Spiced vinegar (suka’t sili)
Instructions
1️⃣ Make the Filling:
- Sauté garlic until fragrant. Add pork and shrimp; cook until browned.
- Add carrots, bean sprouts, and seasonings. Stir-fry for 3 minutes. Drain excess liquid. Cool completely.
2️⃣ Wrap the Lumpia:
- Place 1 tbsp filling near the corner of a wrapper. Fold sides inward, then roll tightly. Seal with egg wash.
3️⃣ Fry to Crispy Perfection:
- Heat oil to 350°F (175°C). Fry in batches until golden brown (~3-4 minutes). Drain on paper towels.
